Al Masar Gallery of Contemporary Art commemorate seven years of prompting contemporary Egyptian art with a major art show

CAIRO, EGYPT- Al Masar Gallery of Contemporary Art located in Cairo, Egypt recently turned 7. In celebration of that 7th anniversary, the gallery organized an exhibition titled The Nile: A River of Continues Inspiration. It featured works by eminent Sudanese American contemporary artist Mohammad Omar Khalil.

On hand to inaugurate the exhibition was Her Britannic Majesty’s Ambassador, H.E John Casson. Surrounded by other guests and the artist, who had traveled all the way from the United States, Ambassador Casson declared the exhibition open. With the artist and other guests, they walked around the gallery viewing the works on display.

Omar Khalil who is based in New York used his artworks to examine the impact of the Nile River on Egypt and Sudan, his original homeland. The artworks on display at the Al Masar Gallery of Contemporary Art reflect the artist’s culture and memories on Egypt.

Located in Cairo, Egypt, Al Masar Gallery of Contemporary Art has been key to the presentation of artworks by established and emerging Egyptian contemporary artists. Some of the Egyptian famous artists and emerging ones that have exhibited at the galley since it opened include Ahmad Farid, Asmaa Nawawy, Essam Darwich, Hamdi Attia, Hazem Taha Hussein, Hussein Youssef Amin, Kareem El Qurity, Mahmoud Afifi, Mounir Canaan, Omar El Nagdi, Sami Aboul Azm, and Samir Rafi, among many others.
