    Yoshiki Music Story Focus of New Disney Plus Documentary

    Yoshiki Music Story is the focus of a new Disney documentary that includes songs from Frozen and The Lion King reimagined and performed by the international pop star.

    JAPAN-โ€œDisney โ€“ My Music Story: Yoshikiโ€, a new documentary on Yoshiki allows a window into the life of the celebrated musician.  Now on Disney Plus Japan streaming service, the international rock star, and composer tells his music story in a way that reveals that he is multi-talented.

    A gifted drummer, pianist, and composer, Yoshiki has worldwide success in classical music. The unlikely collaboration between Disney and Yoshiki shocked many people. However, Yoshiki fans around the world are celebrating the union.  They see the collaboration as an opportunity for the pop culture icon to reach a wider audience and show his musical dexterity.

    Disney Meets Yoshiki

    When Disney asked Yoshiki to star in their new documentary series, he knew it would be a natural fit. To make the documentary a glowing tribute, the pop culture icon performed the songs in the program on his signature crystal grand piano with a string quartet.

    The original documentary features Yoshikiโ€™s new arrangements and performances of songs like โ€œLet It Goโ€ (Frozen) and “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” (The Lion King). Other tracks in the documentary include โ€œEndless Rainโ€ and โ€œWithout Youโ€ from his iconic rock band, X Japan. Additionally, fans of Yoshiki music get an intimate look at his musical origins and his recording process in his state-of-the-art L.A. studio.

    Yoshiki is a solo artist and leader of rock group X Japan.  He has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in the world, including Carnegie Hall, Madison Square Garden, and Wembley Arena. Yoshiki has sold 50 million albums and singles worldwide.

    A pop icon, Yoshiki has sold out the Tokyo Dome a record-setting 18 times. His compositional skill has also won him many accolades and brought him to the attention of famous musicians.  He composed the theme for the Golden Globe Awards, a classical concerto for the Emperor of Japan, and the Hello Kitty theme song. He is also the composer of the theme music for the hit animation series, Attack on Titan.

    Yoshiki has collaborated with Beatles producer George Martin, Roger Taylor of Queen, and Sarah Brightman. Recently, he collaborated with Bono, will.i.am, Jennifer Hudson, and St. Vincent. He is currently composing music for Hollywood films and other TV projects.

    Yoshiki recently graced the cover of Numero Tokyo, a major fashion publication. He joins the list of distinguished cover models such as Kate Moss, Chloรซ Sevigny, Victoria Beckham, Gisele Bundchen, and others who have adorned the cover of Numero Tokyo.  

    This is the second time the International rock star and fashion innovator is appearing on the cover of a major fashion publication. He was the first and only Japanese male to appear on the cover of Vogue Japan.

    Yoshiki Avant-garde Fashion world

    Yoshiki has made an incursion into the fashion world. His avant-garde kimono collection, Yoshikimono, gained worldwide attention at the 2020 Tokyo Fashion Week. It was later selected by the Tokyo National Museum for their famed kimono exhibit.

    The artist made a major appearance at Otakon in 2014.

    โ€œDisney โ€“ My Music Story: Yoshikiโ€ is expected for release internationally within the next month.
