As excitement grows for the opening of the Baltimore Art, Antique & Jewelry Show this Labor Day Weekend, here are some of the best booths at Baltimore art to visit at annual fair

BALTIMORE, MD-The Baltimore Art, Antique & Jewelry Show is set for the Labor Day Weekend at the Baltimore Convention Center at the inner Harbor. The annual event brings together artists, collectors, and art enthusiasts from across the country. There are more than 200,000 individual items guests can enjoy and experience.

More than 35,000 art lovers visit the Baltimore Show annually to enjoy some of the art on display. They include vintage and estate jewelry, American and European silver, furniture of all kinds, crystal, art glass, ceramics, quilts, Art Deco, Art Nouveau, lamps, ethnic art, and paintings. Others include decoys, Chinese exports, bronzes, music boxes, sewing collectibles, oriental rugs, textiles, posters, tribal art, antique armor, military and political memorabilia, and much more.  Some of the best booths will be presenting items that collectors are looking for to add to their collections. Below we share highlights from the fair’s best booths that you must visit this year.

Guarisco Gallery

Art Section•Booth #1522/1623

With works by Claude-Emile Schuffenecker (French, 1851-1934)

Guarisco Gallery is one of the largest 19th-century galleries worldwide. Founded in 1980, the gallery currently holds an extensive inventory of exceptionally quality original 19th and early 20th centuries European and American paintings, watercolors, and sculptures. Recently, the gallery expanded into contemporary art. This is one of the best booths to visit at this year’s art show. The gallery has over 250 paintings from every major school within the 19th and early 20th century, including 19th-century Academic, Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, Modern, and Contemporary works in its collection. Some of these works will be on display at the Baltimore Art, Antique, and Jewelry Show.  Subject matter ranges from sporting pieces, marines, and orientalist works to still life, landscapes, and elegant and charming genre works.

Rehs Galleries

Art section• Booth #2103 & 1601

With works by Edouard Leon Cortes (1882 – 1969)

Located in New York, the Rehs Galleries is one of the regular features at the Baltimore Art, Antique & Jewelry Show. For almost 89 years, Rehs Galleries has been buying and selling art. Although it started on a whim in the 1930s, the gallery has grown from its warehouse days to be one of the most respected galleries in the United States.  Rehs Galleries represents more than 200 artists, including painters, sculptors, and designers. Some of the works by the artists will be on display at the Baltimore Art, Antique & Jewelry Show.

Rehs Galleries is one of the best booths to visit at this year’s art show. In its booths are works by 19th and 20th-century artists. There will also be Rehs Contemporary, which focuses on contemporary art.  Some of the artists represented by the gallery include Daniel Ridgway Knight, Antonio Jacobsen, Paul Aizpiri, Stuart Dunkel, and Timothy W. Jahn, among many others.

M.S. Rau Antiques has a noticeable presence at the annual Baltimore Art, Antique & Jewelry Show in Baltimore. Nicolo Melissa Antiques specializes in high-quality sculpture, art, furniture, lighting, and decor. Second-generation dealers, the company has roots in a reputable family antique business in Northern Italy, founded in the 1970s. Nicolo Melissa Antiques has a variety of European and Asian works of art. The company focuses on works dating from the early 1st century through the 19th century, with a smaller selection in 20th-century design. This is one of the best booths to visit if you are interested in the early 1st century through the 19th century.

Ophir Gallery

Located in the quiet town of Englewood, NJ, Ophir Gallery specializes in museum quality objects in Twentieth-Century Decorative Arts. For more than 35 years, Ophir Gallery has been offering all objects by Tiffany Studios, French Art nouveau Furniture by Louis Majorelle, and Emile Gallé, & Eugene Gaillard. The gallery also offers enamel vases by Camille Faurè, fine Austrian & French glass by Daum, Gallé and Loetz, and American and European Sculpture by Bouval, Frishmuth, Chiparus, Larche, and Kauba, along with many other artists of the period. Founded in 1986 as a family-run business, J.S Fearnley has in 33 years grown into an international company. Located in Atlanta, the company specializes in rare antique jewelry, fine-colored gemstones, and the best estate jewelry from history’s premier jewelry houses, such as Cartier, Buccellati, and Van Cleef & Arpels, to name just a few. This is one of the best booths to visit at this year’s event. The company will be offering a beautiful selection of jewelry at this year’s Baltimore Art, Antique & Jewelry Show, including an Art Deco Platinum Sapphire and Diamond Bracelet.

Jacob’s Diamond & Estate Jewelry

Scott Causey

The unique and finely crafted work of Scott Causey will be on display in booth #909. A ceramist, Scott began showing his love for clay at a very young age. He was an apprentice to Rob Reedy, who was then an instructor at Itawamba College in Fulton. He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from The Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida. Scott later attended The Arrowmount School of Arts and Crafts. Born in Eupora, Mississippi, Scott lives and works in Sarasota, FL. His work has been exhibited throughout the United States. This is one of the best booths to visit in this section of the Baltimore Art, Antique & Jewelry Show 2019

Alexis Barbeau Designs 

Baltimore Fine Craft Show • Featured Artists • Booth #909

Alexis Barbeau is a goldsmith and jewelry designer. A scuba instructor, Alexis draws inspiration for her beautifully wearable designs from the deep ocean. The beautiful underwater life, shapes, and the fantastic array of sparkling tropical colors inspire her creations.   Each piece, setting, link, and coral branch of her design is meticulously crafted using the lost wax casting process.  This is followed by forging, fabricating, and finishing the piece.   With the addition of unique stones set in contemporary forms, the designs come alive in glowing beauty.  Alexis donates a portion of her sales to the Ocean Conservancy and Reef International to help sustain the study of scientific education as well as conservation. Remember, when you buy one of her creations; you are not only getting an exquisite design, you are also helping protect the environment.
