The Shape Of Water was a big winner at the 90th Academy Awards, winning the best picture and directing. Directed by Guillermo del Toro, the movie is about Elisa, a mute who works as a cleaning lady in a hidden, high-security government laboratory in 1962 Baltimore. While working at the facility, she discovers the lab’s classified secret – a mysterious, scaled humanoid-amphibian creature from South America that lives in a water tank. The discovery changes her life forever as the fantasy drama unravels. The isolated Elisa develops a unique bond with her new friend and soon learns that its fate and very survival lies in the hands of a hostile government agent and a marine biologist.

The Shape Of Water stars Sally Hawkins, Michael Shannon, Richard Jenkins, Doug Jones, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Octavia Spencer. Written by del Toro and Vanessa Taylor, the movie has won several awards before getting to the 90th Academy Awards.
