UNITED KINGDOM—In celebration of the life and works of J.D. Okhai Ojeikere, one of Africa’s celebrated photographer of the 20st century, an exhibition of his works will open at the New Art Exchange in Nottingham on September 27, 2014. Titled J.D. Okhai Ojeikere: Hairstyles and Headdresses, the show will feature some of Okhai Ojeikere’s signature images of beautiful hair styles. These brilliantly composed images of elaborately sculpted hair style of Nigerian women captured in vividly composed black and white photographs are testament to the brilliance of this foremost African photographer who died early this year. Exhibition runs till January 11, 2015.
