NEW YORK, NY-How do you say, “I am sorry” when you hurt someone you love? With a song? That is what New York singer-songwriter Joel Phil is doing with the brand new track “Perdóname”. Written by Phil and Jane Li as a follow up single to “Eres Tú”, off his upcoming album, “Perdóname” is a from the heart apology to an undisclosed person Joel Phil wronged several years ago. “It’s a simple message to someone I did something wrong to in the past. I’m asking for forgiveness, but I am not quite sure if they ever will forgive me,” he says.

Joel’s sincerity is articulated in “Perdóname”, a powerful ballad enhanced by a confluence of romantic essence and soft voice certain to stir the listeners’ emotions. With accompanying violins, cello, piano, and other percussions, “Perdóname” is an organic and introspective composition certain to arouse a deep sense of humility.

The emotional connection of the new track to listeners was clear when Joel Phil performed “Perdóname” live for the first time at the Tao Club in Las Vegas as part of Billboard’s official Latin Music Week showcase. Fans were captivated by his sonorous soft voice. Clearly, Joel Phil will continue to thrill fans with his performances. On June 3, 2019, he will make his stage debut in California as part of BMI’s Acoustic Lounge showcase. There, he will be performing songs from his upcoming solo album, in an unplugged format.

“Perdóname” provides an insight into what the new album Mi Alma will sound like. Produced by Jorge A Holguin (Pyngwi), Joel Phil explains that the album reveals a deep part of himself: “It’s about my true self. It’s a fringe of my soul, my being, my history, where I uncover memories and feelings of my past and my present”. The new album was recorded in various studios such as Art & Co Studios of Bogotá-Colombia, BackDoor Records in Orlando-FL and Power Station in New York.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Joel is the Son of Dominican and Spanish immigrants. He uses his work to inspire and instill confidence in others going through challenges. Surrounded by honest and sincere people, Joel gives life to his lyrics in a way that encourages people going through difficult times not to give up. Raise Up, his debut theme inspired people to come together as a group, accept who they are, and face their circumstances as one.
