ART NEWS: New Exciting Sections Added to the Baltimore Art, Antique & Jewelry Show Will Attract Collectors and Art Lovers.

BALTIMORE, MD., –The annual Baltimore Art, Antique & Jewelry Show will take place from August 25-28, 2016. The venue is the Baltimore Convention Center. It will feature more than 400 international exhibitors, including a book fair section, and an exciting new Fine Craft section. In addition, the expansive show will also feature a juried exhibition of artists.

In its 36th year, the show has been a major attraction in Baltimore, attracting thousands of visitors. Every year, fine art, antique and jewelry aficionados travel from all corners of the globe to explore the items  on display.

Some of the treasures put on display are rare and date back thousands of years. They include furniture, American and European silver, and major works of art. This is not to mention Asian antiquities, porcelain, rare manuscripts and books. Americana, antique and estate jewelry, glass, textiles, are also favorites for guests.

While some of the exhibitors for this year’s fair are new, others have been coming for years. Some of the exhibitors include Art Collectibles, Ashville Fine Art, Bellus Fine Art, Drucker Antiques, Ophir Gallery, Vintage World, R.G.L. Antiques and M.S. Rau Antiques among many others.

Although in the 36th year, the Baltimore Art, Antique & Jewelry Show has continued to grow. “Every year this show gets bigger and better,” said Scott Diament, President and CEO of the Palm Beach Show Group. He adds: “We have dealers from all over the country that we hand-select so that everyone who attends will be able to shop the best of the best!”

What has kept the fair going is innovation. Like other years, there are new ideas in place for this year’s event. Notably amongst them is Booth Talks.  The informative, educational and exciting new series will engage artists about upcoming shows. In particular, the focus will be on riveting subject matters on art and art market. Conversations will be held at exhibitors booth on the floor of the Baltimore Art, Antique & Jewelry Show.

Palm Beach Show Group, organizers of the event recently changed the name of the fair from Baltimore Summer Antiques Show to Baltimore Art, Antique & Jewelry Show.  The success of the fair, as well as the need to accurately represent the diverse dealer mix represented at the show, informed the name change . Scott Diament explains:

“The fine art market is strong and getting stronger, and the demand by collectors for quality art from all periods including Old Masters to contemporary works cannot be ignored. The number of dealers currently participating in the show that deal in paintings, sculptures rival all shows in the Mid- Atlantic region. We want the name of the show to be inclusive of fine art so that collectors, curators and art enthusiasts know that leading galleries can be found at the show. ”

Expectations are high for this year’s event. From estate jewelers, antiquarian book dealers, and exhibitors offering  majolica to contemporary art, there is so much to see. In addition, visitors will be looking forward to a comfortable and conducive environment. The full-service restaurants, coffee bars, and lounge areas on the show floor are points of comfort.
