The Everyman Theatre 2026 season brings together classic and contemporary productions, a world premiere, and community-focused programming to Baltimore.

Baltimore, MD — Everyman Theatre has announced its 2026 season, marking the company’s 36th year as a leading presence in Baltimore’s arts community. Branded under the theme “Built in Baltimore,” the season reflects both the theater’s long-standing commitment to classic works and its continued investment in contemporary storytelling and local engagement.

Founded in 1990, Everyman Theatre operates as a professional Equity company with a permanent Resident Company of 18 artists. Over more than three decades, the organization has grown into one of the region’s most prominent theaters. It is known for actor-driven productions and community-centered programming.

Founding Artistic Director Vincent M. Lancisi noted the significance of the milestone season. She points to the theater’s dual role as both a cultural institution and a creative home for artists.

“Everyman has been recognized as one of the premier theaters on the East Coast,” Lancisi said. She added, “But we’ve also been able to contribute meaningfully to one of the most vibrant arts communities in the country.”

A Diverse Lineup for the Everyman Theatre Baltimore 2026 Season

The Everyman Theatre Baltimore 2026 season continues the momentum of late 2025 productions such as The Piano Lesson by August Wilson and Yasmina Reza’s Art. The newly announced slate blends reimagined classics, contemporary comedies, and a world premiere:

Deceived—Adapted by Johnna Wright and Patty Jamieson (Nov 30, 2025–Jan 4, 2026): Inspired by Patrick Hamilton’s classic thriller Gaslight, this gripping psychological drama explores manipulation and female agency. A reimagined masterpiece, it promises to keep holiday audiences on the edge of their seats.

Dawn by Tuyết Thị Phạm (World Premiere) (Feb 1 – March 1, 2026): This is a major highlight of the season. This world premiere comes from Resident Company Member Tuyết Thị Phạm. Following the success of Dinner and Cake, Dawn is a personal and poignant experience. It is a narrative exploring generational identity and the immigrant experience in a changing America.

Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike by Christopher Durang (March 22–April 19, 2026). This is a riotous comedy that mashes Chekhovian themes with modern neuroses. This production offers a blend of family dysfunction and intellectual wit, promising both laughter and introspection.

Emma by Jane Austen, Adapted by Kate Hamill (May 17–June 14, 2026): Closing the season is a fresh, fast-paced adaptation of Austen’s timeless tale. Using a modern feminist lens, Hamill’s signature style re-energizes this classic with bold choices and irresistible charm.

Updated Performance Times

In response to audience feedback, Everyman Theatre will introduce new curtain times beginning with the 2026 season. Evening performances will start at 7:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, a shift intended to accommodate modern schedules.

Commitment to Equity and Access

Access remains a central focus for the theater. Everyman will continue its Pay-What-You-Choose (PWYC) program. It reserves 16 seats at every performance for audience members who may not be able to attend due to financial constraints.
