Anime Voice Actors in famous anime films and video games will discuss their voice acting career challenges and lessons at Otakon 2021.

WASHINGTON, D.C.– Anime voice actors, singers, and authors are some of the guests invited to this year’s Otakon. The guests will discuss their experiences and roles as voice actors in anime shows, movies, and video games. This year’s event will take place from August 6-8 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Face masks are mandatory for all anime, manga, and video game fans attending this year’s Otakon Convention.

Although this year’s convention may not be as colorful as past years because of the coronavirus, organizers of the annual event are determined to make it noteworthy. Here are some of the voice actors, singers, and authors that will grace this year’s event.

Voice Actor Zach Aguilar

Zach Aguilar is one of the voice actors attending this year’s Otakon Convention.  Aguilar’s well-known roles include Tanjiro in Demon Slayer, Byleth in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, and Ota from AI: The Somnium Files. The voice actor is one of the youngest talents in the industry. He has a long list of credits in anime and video games to prove his commitment. Aguilar will talk about his voice acting career and project.

Anime Voice Actor and Singer Abby Trott

Abby Trott is a voice actor and singer who has made a name for herself in anime and video games.  She is best known for portraying Nezuko in Demon Slayer. From Attleboro, Massachusetts, Trott has lived and worked in Tokyo and New York City. She is currently based in Los Angeles. Some of her other credits include Annette in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Ivy in Netflix’s  Carmen Sandiego, Veronica Liones in Seven Deadly Sins, and Windblade in the Transformers: Prime Wars Trilogy. Abby enjoys playing the shakuhachi (Japanese flute) and chatting with her cats when not voice acting.

Laura Post

Anime and video game fans know Laura Post for her roles as Kasumi in Persona 5 Royal,  Primrose in Octopath Traveler, Ragyo Kiryuin in Kill La Kill,  Circe in Justice League Action, and Harley Quinn in Telltale’s Batman: The Enemy Within. Post will answer questions and discuss her experience as an anime voice actor during Otakon 2021. The voice actor will also talk about her video game work, such as Ahri in League of Legends and Valentine in Skullgirls, among many others.   

Ricco Fajardo

Voice actor Ricco Fajardo is known for his work in anime and video games.  He is a versatile artist with lots of credits in anime and video games.  Some of his credits include Mirio in My Hero Academia, Taiju in Dr. Stone, and Nozel in Black Clover. Fajrdo studied acting and received his MFA from SMU and his B.A. from UC Irvine.  Recently, you can also see him on-screen in Hulu’s Cruel Summer” and CW’s “Walker.

Voice Actor Anne Yatco

Anne Yatco, who voices many Japanese anime characters, will be on hand at Otakon to discuss her work. She is one of the anime voice actors to educate young fans about her voice acting career. A Filipino American actress and former Midwesterner, Yatco’s love for voice acting began at a young age. Watching and listening to the voice of the Disney Princess inspired her to become a voice actor. Yatco has a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, an MFA in acting, and had a career as a forensic scientist. Her anime credits include the English voice of Nobara Kugisaki in Jujutsu Kaisen and Lola in The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter. She is also the voice of Hamamoto in Penguin Highway.

Yatco’s video game credits include Kurumi in the upcoming Naraka Bladepoint and Eda and Solitaria in Epic Seven. She also voiced Kainin in Onmyoji Arena Marianne.

Adam McArthur

Adam McArthur is best known as the voice of Marco Diaz in Disney’s Star vs. the Forces of Evil. He currently voices the main protagonist Yuji Itadori in the 2020 Crunchyroll Awards Anime of the Year, Jujutsu Kaisen. His video games and TV shows credit include Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Far Cry 5, and Final Fantasy XV: Comrades. Adam McArthur will share his voice acting career lessons at Otakon 2021.  

Anime Voice Actor Kaiji Tang

Kaiji Tang has been working as a voice actor in Los Angeles since 2007. He is known for a variety of roles in video games and anime movies. In the world of video games, Tang has performed roles such as Ichiban Kasuga in Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Eustace in Granblue Fantasy: Versus and Faust in Guilty Gear. He is also the voice of Satoru Gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen, Osamu Dazai in Bungo Stray Dogs, and Joe in Megalobox among many others. 

Actor/Author Joe Zieja

Joe Zieja is a passionate voice actor and author devoted to his work in the anime world. His experience as a voice actor will help many young guests at Otakon 2021.  A former USAF officer, Zieja is the voice of Claude Von Riegan in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. He also voiced Cesar in Just Cause 4, and Fox McCloud in Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins.

Zieja has a long list of credits playing anime and video game roles.  However, he is also passionate about teaching others how to use their voices for good. Zieja runs a YouTube channel where he teaches voice acting basics. He is the author of the Epic Failure Trilogy, a whimsical military sci-fi series.
