BALTIMORE, MARYLAND—Across Baltimore and the United States, many people are preparing for the Valentine’s Day celebration. While some people are searching stores for Valentine’s Day gifts, others are scrolling through Amazon searching for unforgettable gifts for their hubbies. In celebration of this moment, stores are filled with hellion balloons of various shapes, colors, and sizes competing to touch the ceiling. While some have the word “Love” boldly written on them, others have colorful hearts drawn on them. There are also flowers, teddy bears and candies in luscious packaging specifically design for the lovers.
In addition to buying gifts, couples are also booking seats in restaurants where they will enjoy sumptuous meals. Many Baltimore restaurants are aware of the financial benefits of Valentine’s Day celebrating and are giving discounts to couples interested in spending time in their restaurants. Some restaurants are even organizing their own Valentine’s Day events. Love vacations is another option lovers are exploring for the celebration of their love on this Valentine’s Day.
However, for those who cannot afford a table at the restaurant or go on love vacations, home is the best place to celebrate the goodness of their love. Perhaps, this is a cheaper way to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Couples can buy a good wine, cook some food and play sweet serenade songs. For those who do not drink alcohol, there are non-alcoholic drinks that will do quite well for the occasion. With all that, all that is left is a collection of sweet serenade songs to perfect a romantic evening.
The joy of celebrating your Valentine’s Day at home is the opportunity to do things your own way, including setting the mood with sweet serenade songs, There are many sweet serenade songs that will fill the celebration with sweetness and emotions. For decades, musicians have been creating sweet serenade songs specifically composed for lovers and couples.
In the 1970s, for instance, love songs like How Deep is Your Love by Bee Gees, to I’ve Got Love On MY Mind by Natalie Cole, Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love For You by George Benson, and Best of My Love by Emotions served as sweet serenade songs for the soul. It is not for naught that people describe them as oldies but goodies. Of course one cannot forget musicians like Marvin Gaye, Luther Van dross, Anita Baker, Diana Ross, Boyz II Men, Donna Lewis, Backstreet Boys, Celine Dion, and Sade, who used their voices and love songs to mesmerize hearts.
For those who love country music, there are many sweet serenade country music out there. In fact, some of my favorite love songs are by country music artists, rock music stars and indie musicians. There is also an array soulful love music composed by contemporary musicians who have followed in the path of celebrated musicians who use their songs to serenade the soul of lovers.
One of my recent favorite is Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran. From when the music was released in 2014 until now, this track has reminded me of the serendipitous nature of love and its transcending magical transformation. Sheeran’s voice and the music video make me sing out loud every time I listen to this soul stirring music.
To crown the night of love, you must listen to Always by Atlantic Starr. This love song should be on everyone’s list of sweet serenade songs.
