BALTIMORE, MARYLAND- There is great expectation around Baltimore as preparation gets into full gear for this year’s Baltimore Art, Antique & Jewelry Show. The annual fair, which brings together an enviable selection of art, antiques, and jewelry runs from August 30 to September 2 at the Baltimore convention center.
One of the artists to watch out at this year’s event is Katherine Houston owner of Katherine Houston Porcelain. A frequent exhibitor at the Baltimore Art, Antique & Jewelry Show, Katherine Houston returns this year with her latest creations. Visitors will get the chance to view one-of-a-kind Porcelain works of art influenced by ancient Imperial and Chinese wares and those of 18th century Meissen and Sèvres.
In her works, Katherine Houston explores an 18th-century technique, adapting the techniques and masterful creations of the past with a 21st-century approach to design and technicality. She is one of the few artists in the world carrying on a tradition of hand sculpting hard-paste porcelain, decorated with a broad range of color overglazes. She uses only 18th-century colors in her work.

Katherine Houston’s works are predominantly botanical themes – fruits, vegetables, leaves, and flowers. Her dexterity and painstaking attention to detail make her work extremely unique.
