BALTIMORE, MARYLAND–Matt Stagmer and Ilya Alekseyev, the master craftsmen behind the hit YouTube series Man At Arms: Reforged, will be guests at Baltimore Otakon.
An amazing bladesmith, Stagmer is the lead blade grinder at Baltimore Knife and Sword. For more than 17 years, he has been creating some amazing knives and swords. To share his skills with a larger audience, he started hosting the hit web series Man At Arms: Reforged in 2014. Working with other talented craftsmen, Stagmer recreates the most requested fantasy arms and armor from viewers’ favorite video games, anime, and other pop culture genres.
Alekseyev’s love for art and craftsmanship of bladed weapons began at an early age. Born in Troitsk, Russia, he grew up with a fascination for elegant and well-crafted bladed weapons. That early enthrallment guided his career to becoming a bladesmith. Alekseyev is a passionate bladesmith with outstanding skills.
Alekseyev creations are very unique. His background in art history, Asian studies, and philosophy have helped enhance his creations. Alekseyev’s expertise in armor, Damascus steel, bloomery steel, and engraving makes his project on the series exceptional. With unbelievable dexterity, he helps forge weapons from video games, anime, and other pop culture genres. He is currently an armorer at Baltimore Knife and Sword, where he is also one of the product designers.
