Meilland’s designs consist of formal and casual styles that are timeless appealing and charming. From Polo shirts to zip cardigans with Terry textures, and checks, the designs are meticulously finished to express style and dignity. The choices of fine-tailoring fabrics for fluid jackets, shorts, and suits are uniquely Meilland. The company describes the collection thus: ‘The leisurely lifestyle and understated elegance typical of the sun-kissed Riviera run through the Ferragamo SS18 men’s collection.’
Each design is meticulously finished to articulate their sector. Using nautical motifs, garlands of corals and sea horses, Meilland elevates corduroy and velour beyond the ordinary. Even the leathers are given a breath of fresh air with details with rubber coatings, organza, and jersey.
Enriching the designs are carefully selected colors. Colors like Ivory, pink, mahogany, mid-blue, earthy tones, dark blue, give vibrancy to thoughtfully chosen materials including leather, terry, cotton, velvet, linen, organza, and classy fabrics.
In addition to the designs are foot wares and bags that accentuate credence for the fashion conscious in the fashion space. Ankle boots and penny loafers with a rubber sole and tiny hook, chamois lace-ups, canvas-and-leather bags are all part of the new collection.
Born in 1898 in Bonito, near Avellino, Salvatore Ferragamo was an Italian shoe designer and the founder of Salvatore Ferragamo S.p.A. The 11th of 14 children, to a poor family, Ferragamo’s love for designing started at a very young age. His first incursion into designing started at nine years old. After making a pair of shoes for his sisters to wear at their confirmation, he was convinced that was the way to go.
From that early age, Ferragamo never looked back as his creative impulse blossomed. In the 1920s, Ferragamo worked with many Hollywood stars creating amazing designs. He returned to Italy soon after where he founded the eponymous company making unique handmade footwear. A brilliant designer, Ferragamo innovative and scientific approach to shoes engendered new concepts, including wedge heel and cage heel. Almost six decades after his death, Salvatore Ferragamo’s company continues to attract patronage from film stars and celebrities. His belt, handbags, shoes and other luxury goods for men and women are available across the globe.
